The customer has super fast fibre broadband in the house, but wanted to get WiFi into an apartment building behind the house which is rented out to a lodger.
When I arrived I noticed the WiFi router was dead, so to help get the customer back online I took her to the Eir Shop in Gorey and the assistant Cormac was super helpful and gave us another router on loan. I set it up and restored internet access and got the customers phone back online as well. I discussed various options to get internet into the apartment building and as the lodger works from home and needs the best possible internet, I told them the best option would be to run a cable from the router in the house into and through the attic and out to the apartment where I would install a WiFi access point. The customer agreed and I completed the installation on the same day. I received a message shortly after from the lodger to say he was delighted with the speeds and he was able to have a conversation with his family back in South Africa via WhatsApp for the first time!!
